LIBRARY |
The central library of the college has more than 40,000 books and subscribes to 11 journals, 9 magazines, bulletins etc. It has back volumes of a few rare and prestigious journals. The library also subscribes to a number of daily newspapers. The library houses a reference room with around 10,000 books. The Library is computerized. It uses Soul 2.0 software and Barcode reader printer & Scanner which is utilized for issue of library books. N-list program facility is also available from this library. |
LABORATORY |
The College has well equipped laboratories for Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Computer Science, Zoology Anthropology, Geography and Statistics. The laboratories have provisions of pipe gas, water, electricity and necessary practical apparatus. |
COMPUTER CENTER |
The computer laboratory of the College was established in 2008. There are twenty computers of latest configuration. Broadband Wi-fi internet facility is available. Several scientific software including ‘Matlab’ and ‘Mathematica’ are installed and available for students. |
HOSTEL |
The college has one girls’ hostel situated within the college campus. Admission to the girls’ hostel is governed by a strict code of conduct laid down by the college. Hostel seats are allotted at the time of admission strictly on the basis of merit. The hostel remains closed during summer and puja vacations. All boarders are to maintain strict discipline as per the hostel rules, violation of which will invite strong action up to the extent of expulsion from the hostel as well as from the college. The three storied building has well furnished rooms and has the capacity of accommodating about 100 boarders. |
AUDITORIUM |
The beautiful building of the Lal Chand Kanoi Auditorium is situated near the main college building. The spacious sound proof auditorium with a well-set stage has a capacity of seating more than 500. Seminars, workshops, meetings and cultural programs are held in the auditorium throughout the year. |
CONFERENCE HALL |
In February 2010, a new conference hall, named, Shankardev Sabha Kakhya was inaugurated by Hon. Minister of Water resources, Sri Prithivi Majhi. The Conference hall is well equipped with modern electronic gadgets and can accommodate an audience of 100. |
RESEARCH AND EXTENSION |
The college extends ample scope for exploring research and extension activities to the faculty members as well as to the students. |
GUEST LECTURES |
The department of English, Economics, Anthropology, Geography and Physics organize Guest Lectures on subjects relevant to the syllabus every year. |

Various departments organize an annual educational excursion to different parts of India. The college also organizes general excursion and study tours to places of educational, historical, industrial importance. |
INFORMATION AND CAREER GUIDANCE CELL |
The Information and Career Guidance Cell (ICGC) of the DHSK College was established in the year 2010 to raise awareness among the students regarding multiple career options and to enable them to make the right career choice. To meet this aim the college has equipped ICGC with latest books on career exploration (around 200), magazines and journals (more than 250) and the weekly Employment News which the students can access. The ICGC has a wide range of books on various competitive examinations, skill development, entrepreneurship etc. The Cell takes utmost care in disseminating career related information / opportunities not only to its existing students but also to the passed out ones by sending text messages. Since its inception the ICGC has been organizing various career guidance programmes from time to time. The Cell has got some basic facilities for the students like xerox, computer typing, printing, internet, passport photo etc. Students may approach the ICGC for counselling regarding academic, personal and career matters.
